Beep Call service provides the capacity to a mobile network subscriber (calling number or “A number”) which is out of credit to initiate a short beep (a short call) to other mobile subscriber (called number or “B number”) and at the same time send an alert SMS notification. This beep-call setup is open for calls in the following directions:

  • MNO to MNO
  • MNO to off-net
  • MNO to international number

Service Description


Beep Call service will provide the capacity to a MNO’s subscriber (calling number or “A number”) which is out of credit to initiate a short beep (a short call) to other mobile subscriber (called number or “B number”) and at the same time send an alert SMS notification. This beep-call setup is open for calls in the following directions:
a) MNO to MNO,
b) MNO to off-net and
c) MNO to international number.


With regards to which network it operates with, the setup of missed call and SMS notification will work according to the following rules:

  • Beep call service in conjunction with Missed Call Alert Service when A and B numbers are ON

  • Beep call service in conjunction with Missed Call Alert Service when A number is ON but B number are OFF: if B number already has Missed Call Alert service then the beep call SMS notification will not be delivered (to avoid doubling of notifications). The beep call service SMS will work if B number has NO Missed Call Alert Service and if it switches on the phone within 48 hours from the moment when beep call attempt took place.

Service from customer point of view (customer journey)


Case 1: customer is active BUT has not balance
Customer tries to make a call
A system will prompt a customer as follows


“You don’t have enough balance to make this call, please recharge your number. To send a free notification and receive a call back from the called number please dial 1 now."

Customer chooses 1
System sends missed call to number B
System sends SMS notification to number B


Case 2: customer is MOC barred
A system will prompt a customer as follows


“Your number is not active. To place this call please recharge. To send a free notification and receive a call back from the called number please dial 1 now."

After a customer has used up a max of 3 beep calls/day a customer will hear just a normal prompt.

In different status of service barring, the beep call service will work according to the following rules

a) For beep call ‘missed call alert’

c) To avoid misuse, a customer can only make max 3 beep calls/day in total (regardless of how many B numbers were beeped)

Testing program


Principles of testing


User Acceptance Testing is carried out jointly by the customer and the contractor.
According to the results of each test, the representatives of the customer and the contractor decides the success or failure of the UAT. The necessary records are made in the provided fields of the control test forms with a mandatory fixing the causes of failure and the comments in case of unsuccessful completion of the test.
The UAT will be considered passed in case of the successful completion of the list of tests given in this document. In case of any remarks, have no significant impact on the functioning of the product, the UAT will be considered as successful with adding the comments in the test report with the terms of their elimination.
In cases where, in accordance with the methodology for the tests, is required the use of Information Systems of the customer, customer provides information and access to relevant systems.

It is needed the following test equipment to complete UAT:

  • Smart mobile number with possibility to make outgoing calls
  • Mobile number with possibility to receive incoming calls
  • Mobile number with different barrings (MOC, MTC)
  • Mobile number with off-net sim card (different mobile operator)
